"Some people know exactly what they want and may simply ask us to make up a pair of curtains for them. Others have no idea how they want to decorate their home or office and that's when our full service swings into operation."
Jon Harding sees himself as a 'hand-holder'. He helps businesses seeking to upgrade their premises and families needing design advice - whether to refurbish their existing residence or to decorate a new home. His style is established English Country and suitable for more conservative tastes. Most of his work is carried out in executive homes. Jon has concentrated on developing the concept of a 'living' environment in the office, and an air of successful living in private homes. Working in soft furnishings for the past twenty years, Jon has been serving the same clients for both business and domestic requirements - some for the past 12 or 13 years. Providing design consultancy services for private commissions and backed by trusted suppliers and manufacturers, Jon brings a special elegance to homes, offices and businesses alike. His aim is to keep clients for life, and most of his new work comes by word of mouth.
Before starting his own company in 1985, Jon spent nine years in a family-run interior design business in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. For two years running in the early '90's, he designed and decorated show houses for the Ideal Home Exhibition at Earls Court. This led to more show-house fit-outs for developers such as Laing, which earned Jon his reputation for quality and imagination. He has used the work of muralists inventively, to create atmosphere and space for some of his more adventurous clients. He also masterminded a recent competition in the local press which offered a £2,000 home make-over as a prize, working alongside Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, of TV's 'Changing Rooms' fame, who backed the promotion. |
